Henry Waxman is chairman of Waxman Strategies, a public affairs and strategic communications firm, focusing on issues he championed in Congress including health care, environment, energy, technology, and telecommunications. He’s also a regent lecturer at UCLA and an advisor and lecturer at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Waxman represented California’s 33rd congressional district in the US House of Representatives from 1975 to 2015, serving as chairman and ranking member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, its Subcommittee on Health and the Environment, and the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. He began his political career in the California State Assembly, where he served from 1969 to 1974.
