Yo-Yo Ma is a cellist. He has performed as a soloist with orchestras around the world, recorded over 90 albums, and received 18 Grammy Awards. His projects include Silkroad, a global cultural collective creating music that engages their many traditions, and the Bach Project, a six-continent tour of J.S. Bach’s suites for solo cello serving as an invitation to a larger conversation about culture, society, and the themes that connect us all. Named to TIME’s 100 Most Influential People of 2020, Ma is a UN Messenger of Peace, World Economic Forum trustee, and a board member of Nia Tero, a nonprofit working in solidarity with indigenous peoples and movements worldwide.
