Alice Walton is the founder of the Alice L. Walton Foundation, working to increase access to arts, improve education, enhance health and well-being, and advance economic opportunity. She is also the founder of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas, and the Art Bridges Foundation, expanding access to American art across the nation. Additionally, Walton founded Heartland Whole Health Institute, a nonprofit addressing physical, mental, emotional and social well-being by redesigning health care delivery. Most recently, she founded the Alice L. Walton School of Medicine, which will offer a four-year medical program that integrates traditional medical education with the arts, humanities and whole health principles. Walton is a member of the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum advisory council.
