Carole Zawatsky
CEO, Tree of Life
Carole Zawatsky is the inaugural CEO of the Tree of Life Jewish congregation, since November 2023 overseeing the public launch of the new institution. With more than 30 years of experience in the Jewish communal world, specializing in partnerships with the philanthropic community, she was previously chief advancement and strategy officer at the National Museum of American Jewish History and an associate producer at the Georgetown University Laboratory for Global Performance and Politics. Earlier, Zawatsky was CEO of Washington, D.C.’s Edlavitch Jewish Community Center and held senior positions at San Francisco’s Jewish Community Center, the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage in Cleveland, the Jewish Museum in New York and the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum. She began her career at Hebrew Union College’s Skirball Museum and the J. Paul Getty Museum.
