Chris Cox is chief product officer at Facebook, leading its Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger apps. Before being promoted to this role in 2014, he was vice president of product, where he built the initial product management and design teams; director of human resources, where he set the tone for culture; and a software engineer, where he was involved in designing and building the first versions of Facebook features like News Feed. Cox joined Facebook after graduating from Stanford and left the company for one year to pursue projects focused on climate. He has been named to the Fast Company list of Most Creative People in Business and the Forbes 40 Under 40 list.
