Dean Ornish is president and founder of the Preventive Medicine Research Institute, clinical professor of medicine at UCSF, and author of seven bestselling books, including “Undo It!: How Simple Lifestyle Changes Can Reverse Most Chronic Diseases,” coauthored with Anne Ornish. “The father of lifestyle medicine,” Ornish has been recognized as a “TIME 100 Innovator,” by LIFE as “one of the fifty most influential members of his generation,” and by Forbes as “one of the seven most powerful teachers in the world.” He was appointed by Presidents Clinton and Obama to White House Advisory Commissions. Ornish directed many randomized trials proving that comprehensive lifestyle changes may reverse the progression of heart disease and other chronic illnesses, change gene expression, and reduce aging by lengthening telomeres.
