Ehud Olmert
Former Prime Minister of Israel
Ehud Olmert is the former prime minister of Israel. He served in this role from 2006 to 2009, leading the country during the Second Lebanon War. Previously, Olmert was acting prime minister and, before that, vice prime minister. Prior to this, he was mayor of Jerusalem from 1993 to 2003. First elected to the 8th Knesset in 1973 at the age of 28, Olmert was re-elected eight times. He is the author of “Searching for Peace: A Memoir of Israel.”
