Julia Dhar

Julia Dhar is a partner and managing director at Boston Consulting Group, where she leads its Behavioral Science Lab, focusing on social and organizational transformations. She uses evidence, research and experimentation to understand human decisions and create more sustainable change. Dhar is also a fellow at BCG’s Henderson Institute, leading research on CEO regrets and the need for bolder, kinder choices in the C-suite. A behavioral economist by training, she was previously private secretary to New Zealand’s finance minister and led a study to increase private capital for public services in the U.K. cabinet office. Co-author of “The Decision-Maker’s Playbook,” Dhar’s board service includes the Yale Center for Consumer Insight and RefugePoint. Her TED talks on productive disagreement and negotiating conflicts have been viewed more than 9 million times.
