Khori Dastoor is general director and CEO of Houston Grand Opera, since 2021. Previously, she was general director of Opera San José (California), where she had earlier been director of artistic planning and an artistic advisor. Dastoor has also worked for the Packard Humanities Institute, where she program director of arts and archeology and Mozart editor, and the Wadhwani Foundation. Earlier, she enjoyed a vibrant international singing career as an operatic soprano soloist. A fervent advocate for the art form of opera, Dastoor serves on the board of OPERA America, is a frequent guest lecturer at universities nationwide and leads industry efforts in identifying young talent as a judge for numerous international vocal competitions.
