Lisa Cook

Associate Professor of Economics and International Relations, Michigan State University

Lisa D. Cook is an associate professor of economics and international relations at Michigan State University. Her research interests include economic growth and development, innovation, and financial institutions and markets. Prior to this appointment, she was on the faculty of Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, a National Fellow at Stanford University, and a senior advisor on finance and development at the US Treasury Department. She was previously president of the National Economic Association and at the President’s Council of Economic Advisers from 2011 to 2012. Currently, she is co-director of the American Economic Association Summer Program and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
