Missy Mazzoli is a composer and pianist. Her music has been performed by the Kronos Quartet, LA Opera, eighth blackbird, the BBC Symphony, Scottish Opera and others. Recent commissions include works for Opera Philadelphia, the National Ballet of Canada, Chicago Lyric Opera and Norwegian National Opera. Also a TV and film composer and pianist with her band, Victoire, Mazzoli is a professor of music at Bard College. She was previously on the faculty of Mannes College of Music and has been the composer in residence at Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Opera Philadelphia. In 2016, she co-founded the nonprofit Luna Composition Lab to support the work of young female and non-binary composers. Among other recognition, Mazzoli has been nominated for three Grammy awards.
