Sandhya Raman

Sandhya Raman is a health policy reporter for CQ Roll Call in Washington, where she covers health care through the lens of Congress, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the White House. Her focus includes women's health, mental health and substance use, disadvantaged communities, and federal appropriations. Raman is a regular contributor to KFF Health News's “What The Health” podcast and is a mentor through the Association of Health Care Journalists. She is currently a 2023-24 Rosalynn Carter Fellow for Mental Health Journalism, where she is writing a yearlong series about how the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization Supreme Court decision is affecting mental health. Raman was previously awarded reporting fellowships through the National Press Foundation and the United Nations Foundation.
