Simon Sebag Montefiore is a historian and novelist. Published in 48 languages, his books include the nonfiction “The World: A Family History of Humanity,” “Jerusalem: The Biography,” and “Stalin: The Court of the Red Tsar”; the Moscow Trilogy of novels, “Sashenka,” “One Night In Winter,” and “Red Sky at Noon”; and “Royal Rabbits of London” for children. Montefiore has also written and presented five historical BBC TV series. Earlier in Montefiore’s career, he was a foreign affairs journalist and a war correspondent during the fall of the Soviet Union. Some of his books’ honors are The Times of London History Book of the Year, Wenjin Prize in the People’s Republic of China, LA Times Biography Prize, and History Book of Year from the British Book Awards.
