Vilas Dhar is president and a trustee of the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, a global philanthropy advancing AI and data solutions to create a thriving, sustainable future. An AI policy expert and champion for equity in a tech-enabled world, he’s an appointed member of the U.N. High-Level Advisory Body on Artificial Intelligence, as well as serving in similar capacities at the Global Partnership on AI, OECD, World Economic Forum and Stanford. Dhar teaches a LinkedIn Learning course, Ethics in the Age of Generative AI. Previously, he founded and was CEO of Next Mile Project, a philanthropic approach to nonprofit incubation and growth, practiced law, was a Gleitsman Fellow on Social Change at Harvard’s Center for Public Leadership, and served on Massachusetts’ Economic Development Planning Council, among other roles.
