Aida Habtezion
Chief Medical Officer and Head of Worldwide Medical and Safety, Pfizer
Aida Habtezion is chief medical officer and head of Pfizer’s Worldwide Medical and Safety organization, which is responsible for ensuring that patients, physicians, and regulatory agencies are provided with information on the safe and appropriate use of Pfizer medications. Habtezion is professor of medicine at Stanford University (on leave) where she led translation research focused on understanding disease mechanisms in pancreatic and intestinal inflammatory diseases. She served as associate dean for academic affairs in the School of Medicine; as a faculty member in the immunology doctoral program, Neuroscience Institute, Cancer Institute, Maternal and Child Health Research Institute, and Bio-X (interdisciplinary biosciences institute); and faculty fellow at ChEM-H. She is president of the American Pancreatic Association and fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association. (Pfizer is a 2022 Festival Underwriter)
