Alan Davidson is assistant secretary of commerce for communications and information at the U.S. Department of Commerce, where he is an administrator with the National Telecommunications and Information Administration. Previously, he was vice president of global policy, trust, and security and then senior advisor at the Mozilla Foundation. Prior to this, Davidson was the director of digital economy in the U.S. Department of Commerce for the Obama administration. Earlier in his career, he directed New America’s Open Technology Institute and started Google’s public policy office in Washington, DC, leading government relations and policy in North and South America from 2005 to 2012. Davidson is a member of the District of Columbia Bar.
