Alec Ross is an innovation expert, Distinguished Visiting Fellow at Johns Hopkins University, and author of The Industries of the Future. Ross served under then-secretary of state Hillary Clinton as senior advisor for innovation and on the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications Policy Committee for Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, also serving on the transition team. In 2000, he co-founded the technology-focused nonprofit One Economy. He started his career with Teach For America. A guest lecturer and writer for academic publications, Ross sits on numerous boards. He was recognized as a Top 100 Global Thinker by Foreign Policy Magazine and received the US Department of State Distinguished Honor Award, among other honors.
