Alexander Stevenson is a graduate research assistant at Florida International University, where he is pursuing a PhD in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. His main research interests include renewable and sustainable energy integration into the power grid, implementation of grid-connected battery energy storage systems, and microgrid/power system control strategies and algorithms. Stevenson, who received his BS from FIU with a focus on power systems engineering in 2021, is working on real-time simulation of smart-grid hardware devices and control system logic toward design, validation, and optimization. He also works with the utility Florida, Power, and Light on the AI-based renewable microgrid at FIU’s engineering campus.
