
Alister Martin is a practicing emergency physician at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was previously chief resident, and a faculty member of the Center for Social Justice and Health Equity at Harvard Medical School. He is the founder of Get Waivered, a campaign to transform emergency rooms into the front door for recovery treatment for those suffering from opioid addiction, and of VotER, a nonpartisan voter registration organization aimed at giving unregistered voters the opportunity to register to vote while they wait in health care settings. Martin has worked as a health policy aide to governors and US representatives on issues of health equity and blends state and federal policy knowledge with hands-on patient experience.
