Allison Matthews is head of Minecraft Education at Microsoft, leading a team in producing the game inspired by Mojang Studio’s mission to build a better world through the power of play. From its start-up phase, she has led customer growth and product strategy to what is now a global learning platform with partnerships and millions of players. She speaks to audiences about the power of game-based learning to engage young people in topics including coding, literacy, sustainability, and active citizenship. Previously executive producer of Minecraft Education, Matthews joined Microsoft in 2006 as a business manager. Prior roles at the company included marketing director, director of category management for wearables, director of business operations and planning for U.S. retail, and planning and strategy lead for Canada consumer sales and marketing.
