Amanda Renteria is CEO of Code for America. Previously, she was interim president and senior advisor to Emerge America, which trains Democratic women to run for elected office. Prior to that, Renteria was chief of operations at the California Department of Justice, national political director for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign, and chief of staff for two US senators from 2005 to 2013. She has also run for Congress and for governor of California. Her career began in the financial industry, and she has taught high school. As the Senate’s first-ever Latina chief of staff, Renteria has received several awards, including being named one of the most influential staffers by Roll Call.
