Andrew Erickson is professor of strategy at the U.S. Naval War College’s China Maritime Studies Institute. A founding member and former research director at NWC, Erickson provides flag officer-tailored education in Honolulu, Taiwan and Naples, Italy. He is also an associate of China Aerospace Studies Institute and a visiting professor in residence at Harvard University’s government department. Previously, Erickson was a visiting scholar at Harvard’s Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies, where he has been a research associate since 2008. He is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations and an editorial board member of Naval War College Review and Asia Policy. Erickson’s honors include NWC’s Research Excellence Award and the National Bureau of Asian Research’s Ellis Joffe Prize for PLA Studies.
