Anne-Marie Slaughter is president and CEO of New America and Bert G. Kerstetter ’66 University Professor Emerita of Politics and International Affairs at Princeton University. From 2009 to 2011, she was the first woman policy planning director at the US State Department. Previously, she was dean of Princeton’s School of Public and International Affairs and an international law professor at Harvard Law School. Slaughter has written or edited several books, including Unfinished Business: Women Men Work Family and, most recently, Renewal, and she contributes to many publications. Recipient of the State Department’s Secretary’s Distinguished Service Award, she also received meritorious service awards from USAID and from the supreme allied commander for Europe.
