Art Cullen is editor of The Storm Lake Times, a twice-weekly county seat newspaper in northwest Iowa. His brother John, the publisher, founded the paper in 1990 in their hometown; he also works with his wife, a photographer and feature writer, and his son, a reporter. Cullen has a 40-year career in in Iowa as a newspaper reporter and editor. He received a 2017 Pulitzer Prize for a series of editorials on agriculture and surface water pollution. Cullen is the author of Storm Lake: A Chronicle of Change, Resilience and Hope from a Heartland Newspaper and writes opinion essays for The Washington Post, The Guardian, and The New York Times.
