Arun Majumdar

Arun Majumdar is the Chester Naramore Dean of the Doerr School of Sustainability at Stanford University, where he is the Jay Precourt Professor of mechanical engineering and energy science, a senior fellow and former director of the Precourt Institute for Energy, and a faculty member in the Department of Photon Science at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. Previously, Majumdar was vice president of energy at Google. He served in the Obama administration as acting undersecretary of energy and founding director of the Advanced Research Projects Agency, Energy (ARPA-E). Prior to that, Majumar was associate laboratory director of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and a professor at University of California, Berkeley. He chairs the U.S. Secretary of Energy Advisory Board and was previously a science envoy for the State Department.
