Ashish Jha is coordinator of the COVID-19 response at the White House. Prior to this, he was dean of the School of Public Health at Brown University, where he was also a professor of health services, policy, and practice. A practicing physician, Jha is an expert on health policy, pandemic preparedness and response, and has directed research around Ebola. Previously, he led Harvard Global Health Institute and taught at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Harvard Medical School. Jha has published over 250 original research pieces and is a frequent contributor to a range of public media. He has practiced for nearly two decades at Veterans Affairs hospitals, providing direct clinical care to veterans.
