Ashley Swearengin is president and CEO of the Central Valley Community Foundation, which has over the last decade funded more than 650 community benefit organizations across the six counties of central California. She served as mayor of the City of Fresno for two terms, from 2009 through 2016, focusing on improving the delivery of city services, revitalizing the downtown and urban core, promoting business and job growth, addressing chronic homelessness, and stabilizing the city’s financial position. Previously, Swearengin led a number of economic development initiatives in the Fresno region, including the Central Valley Business Incubator, Fresno State University’s Office of Community and Economic Development, and the Regional Jobs Initiative.
