Bernadette Woods Placky is chief meteorologist and vice president of engagement for Climate Central, where she directs the Climate Matters program, helping the public understand climate change science, impacts, and solutions. Previously, she worked for more than a decade as a TV meteorologist in four states, winning an Emmy for Best Weathercaster. Woody Placky has been named an American Meteorological Society fellow and Penn State Earth and Mineral Science fellow. A science advisor for C-Change Conversations, she serves on the board of The Weather Channel’s “Pattrn” live climate show and is an elected member of the AMS Council and the National Academy Board of Atmospheric Science and Climate. She also chairs the Penn State Meteorology and Atmospheric Science advisory committee.
