Betsy Cooper is founding director of the Aspen Tech Policy Hub at Aspen Digital. Part of the Aspen Institute, the hub is a West Coast policy incubator training tech-policy entrepreneurs. A cybersecurity expert, she was previously founding executive director of the Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity at University of California, Berkeley. Before that, Cooper was an attorney advisor and policy counselor at the US Department of Homeland Security. She has worked for over a decade in homeland security consulting, managing projects for Atlantic Philanthropies in Dublin, the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit in London, and the World Bank, among others. A senior advisor at Albright Stonebridge Group, Cooper has written over 20 manuscripts and articles on American and European homeland security policy.
