Bill Thomas is a physician, entrepreneur, teacher, and musician whose work explores human aging. He is the founder of global nonprofit The Eden Alternative and creator of The Green House Project, both new approaches to reform long-term care. Thomas also developed the Senior ER model of care and is prototyping a tiny-house model designed to maximize independence and well-being. His books include Tribes of Eden and What Are Old People For? How Elders Will Save the World. In 2008, The Wall Street Journal named him one of the top ten Americans shaping aging, and he received the 2006 Heinz Award for the Human Condition for his contributions to long-term care.
