Blaise Agüera y Arcas is a vice president and fellow at Google Research, where he leads a team working on AI, large language models, smart devices, technology ethics and privacy. His team’s projects include Artists and Machine Intelligence, Coral, and many AI features in Pixel and Android. Agüera y Arcas previously worked at Microsoft, where he was named a distinguished engineer and led Bing Maps and Bing Mobile. He is the author of the books “Who Are We Now?” and “Ubi Sunt” and essays about the relationship between art and technology and on physiognomy and bias in AI. A frequent speaker at TED, he’s been named to MIT Technology Review’s Innovators Under 35 list and one of Fast Company’s Most Creative People in Business.
