Bon Ku is director of the Health Design Lab at Thomas Jefferson University, where he created the first design-thinking program at a medical school. He is assistant dean for health and design, an associate professor of emergency medicine, and a practicing clinician. Ku’s lab teaches future physicians to apply human-centered design to health care challenges and tackles health care inequalities. He speaks globally about the intersection of health and design, was a panelist on the television show “Chasing the Cure,” and co-authored the book Health Design Thinking. Ku received the Cambridge Health Alliance Art of Healing Award and health care innovation awards from The Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Business Journal.
