Bonnie Kerker

Bonnie Kerker is an associate professor of population health and child and adolescent psychiatry at the New York University Grossman School of Medicine and the director of Together Growing Strong, a community-based initiative that supports families with young children in a low-resourced, immigrant community in Brooklyn, NY. Trained in health policy and epidemiology, Kerker focuses on initiatives and policies that prevent and mitigate the impact of adverse experiences among young children and families. Her work emphasizes centering community voice and equity, transforming systems to address communities’ assets and needs, and adapting evidence-based programs for implementation in different populations and settings. Kerker also studies the implementation of a postpartum depression prevention intervention throughout large systems, including a federally qualified health center system and the New York City Department of Homeless Services.
