Brad Smith is Microsoft’s president, chief legal officer, and chief compliance officer. Joining Microsoft in 1993, he has been head of the legal and corporate affairs team in Europe, deputy general counsel for legal and corporate affairs outside the United States, and general counsel. Smith was previously an associate and then partner at Covington and Burling. He serves on the Netflix board of directors and chairs the Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) board, the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), and board of the Washington State Opportunity Scholarship program. National Law Journal named Smith one of the 100 most influential lawyers in the United States in 2013.
