Brett Carter is executive vice president, group president of utilities, and chief customer officer at Xcel Energy, where his role includes meeting customers’ needs for a clean-energy future. Previously, he held senior leadership roles with Bank of America, overseeing key business areas of operations, technology, and shared services. Carter has also held leadership roles in operations, marketing, and technology at several major utilities, including Duke Energy, Aquila, and Dominion. He serves on the boards of directors for Greater MSP | Forge North, EPRI (Electric Power Research Institute), MSP Enterprise Transformation, The FastBreak Foundation, the Edison Foundation’s Institute for Electric Innovation, and Graco. Carter also serves on the Governor's Council on Minnesota’s Economic Future and chairs the Minnesota chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy.
