
Brian Greene is a professor of physics and mathematics at Columbia University, where he directs the Center for Theoretical Physics. Greene is also co-founder and board chair of the World Science Festival. His scientific research is in string theory, where he discovered mirror symmetry and spacetime topology change. Greene is the author of several books, including “The Elegant Universe” and “Until the End of Time.” He has hosted two Emmy and Peabody award-winning multipart television adaptations of his books, and with Philip Glass and David Henry Hwang, wrote the work for stage and orchestra, “Icarus at the Edge of Time.” Greene also wrote and performed in “Light Falls,” a live theatrical exploration tracing Einstein's discovery of general relativity that was broadcast nationally on PBS.
