Bunmi Akinnusotu

Bunmi Akinnusotu is director of City Innovation at the Aspen Institute, overseeing Bloomberg CityLab and engaging city leaders from around the world. Prior to this, she was deputy director of the Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Program at Howard University, diversifying foreign policy and international affairs. Previously, Akinnusotu was a special assistant in the Office of Land and Emergency Management at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where she led efforts to clear the backlog of civil rights cases impacting marginalized communities. She was also chief of staff at Young Professionals in Foreign Policy. Akinnusotu is host of the “What in the World?” foreign policy podcast, which amplifies experts of color. She is a 2022 International Career Advancement Program fellow.
