Carla Walker-Miller is the founder and CEO of Walker-Miller Energy Services. The first Black-owned company in Michigan to obtain B Corporation Certification, the firm works to decrease energy burdens on families and businesses, create sustainable jobs, diversify the workforce and position small businesses to become suppliers in the clean-energy economy. Walker-Miller’s work has been featured in Black Enterprise, Essence Magazine and Forbes, among other publications. Founder of the Water Access Volunteer Effort fund, she is a member of the Detroit Means Business Coalition, Building Performance Association and Neighborhood Defender Service national board. Walker-Miller’s honors include the Max M. Fisher award for outstanding philanthropist and being named the American Association of Blacks in Energy 2022 entrepreneur of the year.
