Charles Adams was born and raised in North Minneapolis, he is head football coach at Minneapolis North High School, and in 2016 became the first Black coach in Minnesota history to win the state high school football championship. Previously, Adams served in the Minneapolis Police Department for 20 years. His recognition includes the 2020 Positive Coaching Alliance National Coach of the Year Award, 2020 National Double Goal Coaches Award, and the Minnesota Football Coaches Association 2020 Jerry Kill Power of Influence and 2020 Tim Mahoney Man of the Year awards. He is also director of team security for the Minnesota Twins baseball team.
