Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is a novelist, poet and essayist. Her most recent novel, “Americanah,” won the National Book Critics Circle Award and was named one of the New York Times’ Top 10 Books of 2013. “Half of a Yellow Sun” won the 2006 Orange Prize, among others, and her first novel, “Purple Hibiscus,” won the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize. Adichie has been a Princeton University Hodder Fellow and a Harvard Radcliffe Institute Fellow and was awarded a MacArthur Fellowship in 2008. She gave the TED Talks “The Danger of A Single Story” and “We Should All Be Feminists.” A recipient of 17 honorary doctorate degrees, Adichie is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
