Chris Womack is executive vice president and president of external affairs for Southern Company. During his more than 30-year career at the utility, he has held numerous leadership positions, including senior vice president of human resources and chief people officer. Previously, Womack worked in the US House of Representatives as a legislative aide and subcommittee staff director. An active civic leader, he serves on the boards of the East Lake Foundation, the First Tee, the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, and the Western Michigan University Foundation. He previously chaired the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau board, the Atlanta Sports Council, and the Communities in Schools of Georgia board.
