Daniel Diermeier
Chancellor, Vanderbilt University
Daniel Diermeier is the chancellor of Vanderbilt University. A political scientist and management scholar, his focus is on political theory, institutions, and behavioral models; business and politics, text analytics, and crisis and reputation management. Previously, Diermeier was provost of the University of Chicago and dean of its Harris School of Public Policy. Prior to that, he was a professor at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Author of over 100 research articles and several books, his latest is A Year Like No Other: How a Global Pandemic Led to Vanderbilt University's Proudest Moment. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Guggenheim Foundation, and the Canadian Institute of Advanced Research.
