Darío Gil is a senior vice president and director of research at IBM. He leads the company’s technology roadmap and technical community, directing innovation strategies in hybrid cloud, AI, quantum computing, and exploratory science. He’s also responsible for IBM's intellectual property strategy and is an industry leader in quantum computing. An advocate of collaborative research models, Gil co-chairs the MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab, advancing AI research to benefit industry and society, and the COVID-19 High-Performance Computing Consortium, providing access to powerful computing resources in support of COVID-19 research. He is a member of the National Science Foundation’s governing body, the New York Academy of Sciences Board of Governors, and the New York Hall of Science Board of Trustees.
