
David DeSteno is a professor of psychology at Northeastern University, where he directs the Social Emotions Lab, exploring the mechanisms of the mind that shape vice and virtue for the past 25 years. DeSteno also hosts PRX’s award-winning podcast, “How God Works: The Science Behind Spirituality.” He is the best-selling author of several books, including “How God Works,” “Emotional Success” and “The Truth About Trust” and a frequent essayist on science and religion for publications including The Atlantic, The Wall Street Journal and The Boston Globe. DeSteno is a fellow of the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association, for which he was editor in chief of the journal “Emotion.”
