David Shulkin
Former Secretary, US Department of Veterans Affairs
David J. Shulkin is former secretary of the US Department of Veterans Affairs, from February 2017 to March 2018. He previously served as under secretary for health, appointed by President Obama. Prior to the VA, Shulkin was CEO of Beth Israel Medical Center and Morristown Medical Center and chief medical officer of the University of Pennsylvania Health System, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and Temple University Hospital. A former chairman of medicine and vice dean at Drexel University School of Medicine, he has been named one of the Top 100 Physician Leaders of Hospitals and Health Systems by Becker’s Hospital Review.
