Derek Thompson is a staff writer at The Atlantic, where he writes about economics, labor markets, and the media. He is a news analyst and weekly contributor to “Here and Now,” an NPR news show, a news analyst for CBS, and appears regularly on MSNBC. Thompson is the author of the national best-selling book Hit Makers: How to Succeed in an Age of Distraction, which has been translated into 13 languages, and the recipient of several honors, including the 2016 Best in Business Award for Columns and Commentary from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers. In 2018, he became the host of The Atlantic’s third podcast series, “Crazy/Genius.”
