Edinah Masiyiwa is executive director of Women’s Action Group, an NGO promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights in Zimbabwe. A gender and reproductive health consultant, she has 25 years’ experience working for women’s rights. Masiyiwa’s passion for women’s rights and gender equality derives from her experience as a nurse midwife. She wants Zimbabwe to lift its decades-old restrictions on abortion, but as long as those laws remain on the books, she advocates for access to post-abortion care to save the lives of women who resort to unsafe termination. Masiyiwa holds a master’s degree in development studies and an advanced certificate in sexual and reproductive health and rights.
