Elizabeth Cohen is a medical journalist whose work has appeared in The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, NBC News, STAT, CNN and KFF Health News. As CNN’s longtime senior medical correspondent, Cohen covered major global and national crises, including the September 11th attacks, Hurricane Katrina, the Haiti earthquake, the Ebola outbreak in Liberia and the infant formula airlift in Germany. She is the author of “The Empowered Patient” and a three-time winner of the Gracie Award from the Alliance for Women in Media. Her reporting has been recognized by the Association of Health Care Journalists, the National Association of Black Journalists and the Society of Professional Journalists. This year Cohen received Research!America’s award for impact on public opinion. She is also a recipient of the distinguished alumni awards from Columbia University in New York City and Boston University.
