Emmie Mediate is chief program officer of Health Care Without Harm, where she leads a team developing strategies to engage the health care sector in addressing climate change and promoting health and equity. She was previously director of the nonprofit’s U.S. climate and health program. Prior to this, Mediate oversaw COVID-19 response and recovery as the CDC Foundation’s Mid-Atlantic regional coordinator. She has been chief of staff at the American Flood Coalition, director of presidential affairs at Planned Parenthood, and an international development fellow on a USAID-funded project in Uganda. Earlier in her career, she was special assistant at the Baltimore City Health Department and a health policy fellow for former U.S. senator Michael Bennet (D-CO).
