Eric Gertler is executive chairman and CEO of U.S. News and World Report. Prior to this, he was commissioner, president and CEO-designate of Empire State Development. Previously, Gertler was executive vice president of the New York City Economic Development Corporation and managing director of the Center for Economic Transformation under multiple mayoral administrations. He is the author of “Prying Eyes: Protect Your Privacy From People Who Sell to You, Snoop on You, or Steal From You.” Gertler is a Zuckerman Family Foundation trustee, Harvard Kennedy School Center for Public Leadership board member and a Council on Foreign Relations member. His recognition includes the 5Boro Institute Leadership Award and being named to City and State magazine’s 2021 Albany Power List and Real Estate Power 100 List.
